Mohegan Sun has something for everyone

By Jill Diver   Before the fall season creeps in with its vibrant colors and cool winds, enjoy the few weekends left of summer by taking a road trip to Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn.   Yes, Pop! fans, this means not attending the beach for a full weekend, (think of the sunburn it will save your skin)  but Mohegan Sun has more than enough entertainment for the 21 plus crowd.   From the moment you set foot inside the doors of the giant hotel and casino, you are surrounded by waterfalls,  intricate decorations made with mosaic tiles and of course, the cha-ching sound of money, being lost and won.

Why don’t we just dance, The Foxtrot?

By Jill Diver   Well, dancing the tango, rose in my teeth, twirling around the floor, may not be in my near future, however, I am learning the basics of some pretty cool and very amazing dances –tango, foxtrot, salsa, swing, hustle and waltz, with more to come!   I have also learned:

Why don’t we just dance?

By Jill Diver   Hello Pop! readers,   Thus far this blog has kept you updated on theater, music and even local bar events, but now,  hold on to your hats, or better yet your dancing shoes, as I  attempt to become more cultured, and learn how to dance from the professionals at Studio 665 in Woburn, Mass.

Meet Pat Green, Country Artist

My job allows for me to meet some pretty cool people, and on occasion, I get to meet some famous people as well.   This past Friday, March 5,  I went and checked out country singer Pat Green at the House of Blues in Boston.

Badfish – A Tribute to Sublime, Saturday, April 24

By Jill Diver   For the rock group Sublime their musical careers came to an abrupt stop with the death of lead singer, Bradley Nowell in 1996, just two months before the release of the band’s self-titled album “Sublime”.   Now, the band “Bad Fish — A Tribute to Sublime”, will bring Sublime fans a live version of music they would otherwise, never hear live.   According to drummer Scott Begin, the band started in 2001 at the University of Rhode Island.

Worth the trip: Black & Blues

By Jill Diver Summer is just around the corner, and with summer, comes the need for a new wardrobe or just a few new staple pieces. If you are one of those people, that love to shop, then check out the trendy Black & Blues Boutique in Davis Square in Somerville, Mass.   Too far you say? Don’t write off this store just yet, as they carry some fantastic lines of clothing and all moderately priced!
